  • - Developer-friendly: allow content creation in Unity3D, Flash, Panda3D etc…
  • - Full HD 3DTV capable
  • - Sensor compatible (Kinect, 3D Cameras,…)
  • - Open to other devices and networks: iPhone, Android, Win7, FaceBook, Twitter, Mixi,…
  • - Multi-sensor capable
  • …and all what you can expect from a 3D tracking solution (Gestures, bones reconstruction, multi-player,…)

Digital Content Expo 2010: mid-air finger tracking makes the headlines

We want to thank all our visitors at Digital Content Expo 2010 last week.

LM3LABS demonstrated 2 solutions out from their technologies:

The Touchless Ironman Experiences

Thousands of visitors could experience the touchless interaction with digital content displayed on a semi-rounded and transparent interface similar to what can be seen in the Iron Man movie. LM3LABS’ AirStrike was tracking fingers, hands and gestures very accurately in mid-air.

The experience was magic.

Interactive Go: hi-precision finger tracking on a piece of wood

LM3LABS’ vision is aimed at hiding technology to make it invisible to users. We wanted to demonstrate the association of digital technology to analog environment and we have selected our finger tracking technology in association to a traditional Japanese Go game (also called Go-ban). A Go-ban is a very beautiful piece of wood made in a single piece. We projected the game from the top, integrating the projector and camera into a (our designer Edern’s) hand-made traditional Japanese lamp.

The technologie is called Movaction and it tracks fingers extremities, hand and gestures very accurately. The tracking is made from top ad it is completely impossible to embed any sensors into the 20cm thick piece of wood.
Players could point at the position they want and “stones” appeared in a magic way.

After a few stones, the game was accidentally broken and Japanese carps were swimming under the Go grid.

LM3LABS’ work had a great media coverage:

On July 23rd, LM3LABS hosted the Tokyo Interaction Center, aka TinC.

Pictures can be seen on http://bit.ly/bnJ0FG

Among guests, Tokuda-san a PhD candidate from University of Tokyo specialized in holographic 3D screens. He presented a small model of his research. We helped him to illustrate the application of his work to the “commercial” world and this the result.

A ring of very light mist mixed with fragrange is pulsed in a shop while a projector synchronize images with the ring size, dimension, speed, density in order to create a 3D effect to viewer under the “cloud”.

3D visualizations simply look like coming to the visitors. When the cloud reach the viewer it caries a fresh fragrange

LM3LABS’ team is delighted to annonce the launch a new Catchyoo FX called “The Koi Pond” (鯉の池 in Japanese).

The Koi Pond FX Pack lets user create multiple combinations of Japanese style interactive environments using ‘Koi’ (carp in Japanese), ‘Kingyo’ (gold fish) as well as seasonable particles like ‘Sakura’ petals, ‘Momiji’ leaves, gorgeous kimono silk and other typical Japanese elements.

Each element of the pack is carefully studied to match the scene to create strong impact and magnificient result.

In Japanese symbolism the koi represents perseverance in adversity and strength of purpose. The strongest koi swims upstream until it reaches the final waterfall, where it vaults into the mists and becomes a water dragon.

LM3LABS’ team wish you a great augmented year 2010 ! We would like to thank our customers and our partners for the past collaboration in 2009 and we are delighted to start this new decade with them.

The new coming decade will bring incredible new experiences, technologies, development in the realm of interactivity.

As a Greeting card we would like you to share a face tracking experience that we prepared for you.

With this “greeting card” we express our philosophy that technology can bring more joyful experiences to human beings, discovering cultural heritages from an other angle, that we all must protect those precious heritages and diversity.

The greeting application let users experience traditional Japanese Noh theater masks, also called no-men. The bamboo on each side are traditional Japanese offering for the new year. The plum flowers (ume) are also traditional good luck symbol. The background is made of traditional Japanese paterns, while the side paintings represent divinities.
