BBC publishes an article about the future of advertising : "Technology lets ads get personal". (VIDEO)

  • The article starts with the need to be "Ubiquitous", a concept that we grow since 2003 with Ubiq’window.
  • fine-tuning of message depending on the time of the day (our note: Catchyoo scheduling and we would had ‘depending on location’ with Catchyoo Media Channel).
  • Comment from UK-based Porterscope’s Jame Davies:"We do know that if consumers interact and actually
get involved with advertising campaigns they are much more likely to
    remember what they’ve come across.
A lot of that is due to the psychology of advertising,
and the fact that by getting people interacting it actually sparks an
emotional response in the brain as opposed to a purely intellectual
    response.
    "
(our note: this is the founding idea below Catchyoo).
  • An other Tim Philips states:"interactive advertising, where we make an effort to
actually receive the information, is great because at least it means we
are interested. It has to be the future of advertising.
" (our note: sure, but  we must make the difference between active  interactivity (Ubiq’window ) and passive interactivity (Catchyoo) both are complementary).
  • Finally the journalist concludes on the need to catch people and get the message across. This is what we work at with the statistic module that can provide advertisers real usage figures and to fine-tune their actions at the minute level.

All this confirms that dynamic signage has already moved to interactive signage and we are at the heart of it.

“Generous” Interactive Advertising

Fold2
And if interactive advertising was helping humankind?
Why not putting Catchyoo Computers installed in shopping centers at the service of science?

Internally, LM3LABS put their computers’ calculation power to the service of science.
As we are equipped with an installed base of many Intel Pentium 4 HT, AMD Athlon 64 and some Intel Xeon which remain unused many hours per day, we decided to bring this calculation power to the Stanford University program folding@home who simulates the folding of proteins, a simulation necessary to understand Alzheimer, Parkinson, Mad Cow disease (BSE), and other cancer-related syndromes. This is our contribution to society as we will not wait to become a Microsoft to make a multi-trillion dollars donation.
A similar experience was launched a few years ago to search for UFO. At LM3LABS we think there is a better use of our CPUs…

The Standford University’s program seriously contribute to human health progress and more generally on understanding the proCess of life.
Patents and discoveries from the fold@home project go to the public domain and can be used by laboratories worldwide to progress in their research.
The project is lead by Vijay Pande from MIT.

Now, Catchyoo Computers installed for commercial puposes can also participate to the effort and the module can be installed by LM3 before shipping if you ask for it.
While making their job in interactive advertising, Catchyoo systems will help research on cancer and other serious diseases, automatically without human intervention.
All Catchyoo Computers are equipped with best of breed CPU which makes them powerful tools for research and there is no impact on the system.

You can ask LM3LABS to participate to the project and install the module on your new equipment.

Every minute of advertisement turns into a better understanding of Life…

Ubiq’window enters KDDI’s showroom

August 22nd, 2006 | Posted in Ubiqwindow's Installations | No Comments »

KddilogoUbiq’window enters today into KDDI’s HQ showroom. KDDI is the second telecom operator in Japan after NTT DoCoMo. KDDI owns the brand and mobile network AU (#2 in Japan). NTT DoCoMo was the historical first customer of Ubiq’window, it was back in early 2004. KDDI installation is far different from DoCoMo’s transparent installation. KDDI prefered frame less interactivity. Both installations bare the same messages: ease of use, speed, freedom, machine-less design, human centric approach.
The project was managed by inspired (by whom really? ;-) Uchida Yoko.
For reference, AU from KDDI was also the company partnering with Catchyoo’s customer Casio.

Eastern Europe jumps into Interactive Advertising

August 21st, 2006 | Posted in Ubiq'window, in the news | No Comments »

CoverUbiq’window was featured in advertising magazin "Campaign" in an article about innovative advertisement. Ubiq’window attracts advertzers all over the planet because it bridges a gap between digital content and human natural interaction. The question could be :"why not telling about touch panels". Because Ubiq’window is something else. It is more than just a machine, more than a technology. It is a natural trend. A desire to break free from machines, from cables, from hardware. This trend is worldwide and Eastern Europe is no exception.

Fishery

A pretty installation made by Catchyoo distributor INT at Nasu Aquarium in Japan. Nasu is a special aquarium as it displays virtual 3D real size fishes. A strange concept but the result in association with Catchyoo is quite nice and it shows Catchyoo’s capability to integrate movies in the FX as simply as pictures.

As Catchyoo grows to version 1.5 it comes with loads of new features that will be described later. In the meantime here is a glimpse of it.

One of Catchyoo’s new FX: Figure that let you draw your own patterns made of your own particles… in seconds.

Catchyoo and Ubiq’window were featured on Singapore Channel 8 this week end. A quick interview of LM3 (NL) and Belinda from Mosaic Solution (our precious local arm in Sing) + explanation of the 2 technologies.

Channel 8 is the leading channel in Singapore. It is a channel in Chinese but we try to get this audiovisual moments to post it here.
